Barbour & Simpkins, LLP is a law firm established in 2007 with an office in Dublin, VA. At this office location, there are 2 lawyers practicing criminal law, drug crimes, driving under the influence and 23 other areas of law.
My opinion Mike is the best defense attorney in NRV..I have had a few cases with Mike and my father has also..I wouldn’t think of hiring any other attorney than Mike Barbour..Especially when it comes to a criminal case..
Ms. Simpkins was the best lawyer I have ever had. She met with me and allowed me to explain my situation to her. Any time I called and needed something, even though she was in court a lot of the time, she always responded to my phone call when she got out of court. I would highly recommend her to anyone that wants someone to fight your case.
Called many local law offices, this one offered great advice for free, and even recommended I save money by not hiring them. They gave me step by step information on what to do on my own to best resolve my speeding ticket.
Mr. Barbour did accomplish what I had originally sought his services for, and that is all it really boils down to; however, the communication between him, his secretary, and myself was terrible. There were not appropriate response times and lack of follow-up with email and phone calls. It took over half of a year to complete a task that should of taken a month or two. I may not be a "big fish", but the services rendered are still important and I feel that they should be equal.
This review is of Angie Simpkins. I have not had experience with her law partner.
Angi is a biased guardian ad litem. She doesn't listen, she forces "recommendations", and doesn't even take the time to actually listen to the kids. If you're assigned her as a GAL, hire a lawyer immediately if you don't already have one!! She doesn't pay attention to the facts, and contradicts herself regularly. Thankfully two judges (JD and circuit) saw the truth and didn't just do what she claimed would be best.
She’s has biases that she lets sway her judgements. As a guardian ad litem she doesn’t do her job at all. She will force “recommendations”. She will tell you one thing then do another. Hire a lawyer if you get her. Otherwise you’ll be taken advantage of by the guardian and the opposite sides lawyer! If I could give her a zero I would.
Angi did not represent our family to our best interest. She was ill-prepared, ineffective, and short-sighted. She presented biases towards the at-fault party that thankfully the judge overruled.
This is the worst lawyer I have ever seen she does not want to return calls she does not want to do anything that the client asks her to check into she is nothing as a defense lawyer. I feel her law license should be suspended I feel she should be investigated for the way that she handles her clients if she's court-appointed she does nothing
