Should we get lawyers?

It is always a good idea to have an attorney work with you on legal documents. Some attorneys will offer document production or document review services. Be sure to get a description of your legal services and the fee in writing at the start. I highly recommend that you at least have someone review your documents given that there are minor children and child support is involved. You need to ensure the documents are properly completed for the best interests of the minor children. Christine@Bechtold-Law.com

If alimony judgement while in appeal, can I still take him to court while it's in appeal?

I, as a matter of principle, will not second guess the actions of an attorney already on the case. I would suggest that you counsel with your attorney and act in accordance with his recommendation.

Can I get a divorce but keep my house with a settlement to my husband if and whenever I sell?

It is highly unlikely you would ever lose your house as a result of your husband's drinking, no matter whether you get a divorce or not. But, if you pursue a divorce the question of who gets the house will depend on how you and your husband agree to things or, if you can't agree, what a judge believes is fair and equitable under all the relevant facts and circumstances.
