Can my son's wife prevent my son from taking the kids to church?

The first amendment doesn't really have anything to do with it. It is up to the judge, but I can't see a judge ordering that the children cannot be taken to church.

Do I have rights for the properties even though I live in a different country and have not signed the divorce papers?

Generally yes, all of the marital property is in play, wherever you or it is situated. For specific opinions I would have to have all of the facts, good luck.

What does sentenced to 30 days, contempt purge within 30 days mean it over a separation agreement?

I do not fully understand your question, it sounds like you were found in contempt of court and sentenced to 30 days, with the potential that could purge the contempt by complying with the court order and therefore avoid jail.
