Can my wife take me to court for child support if the child is not mine?

Divorce lawyer at The Law Firm of Jessica M. Cotter, P.L.L.C.
Does your name appear on the birth certificate? That could complicate matters. If a court enters an order of paternity against the man you believe is the biological father, then that should shield you from an order of support. Unfortunately, there are no absolute guarantees. You should consult with an experienced family law attorney in your area to review this matter.

How can I file subpoena to Verizon wireless for text messages?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
It is my understanding that even if you get a record of the texts, all you get is a record of the text being sent and to whom it was sent.  Last time I tried to get the messages, all I got was a list of the texts that were sent, not the content of the text message.  The only way to get the message is to save it.

Can I obtain evidence free of charge?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
Even though you were pro se you should have been provided with copies of all of the evidence that was produced.  You can indicate to the Court, and to her attorney that you were not supplied with copies of the evidence.  Write a letter to the judge and copy your ex-wife, say that you were not supplied with copies of the documents she provided to the court, and ask for copies.  You should not have to pay for that.
