Me and my husband decided to divorce but he found out I cheated and want to kick me out the house we purchased together. Can he kick me out?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
He can certainly make a request that you leave, but he cannot "evict" you or kick you out.  If the house is a marital asset, purchased by both of you and used as the marital home, you will still be entitled to equitable distribution.

How long do I have to pay alimony in NJ

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
How long you have to pay alimony is made up of a few different factors like how much each party earned, or is earning, how long was the marriage, are there children, etc.  Sometimes there is limited duration alimony like only a few years, if the marriage was short and both parties have earning potential there might not be any alimony.  Also you can negotiate a deal to divide assets in a certain was to avoid any alimony.
