    A substantial part of Sattar&Co.'s practice comprises of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate restructuring. In this area, Sattar&Co. provides a full range of services starting from assisting with the term sheet, conducting legal due diligence, negotiating and drafting definitive agreements and, finally, assisting with the filings of all RJSC formalities in order to complete the transaction. The firm also undertakes basic corporate work including formation of companies and setting-up of joint ventures in Bangladesh. Recently, it has advised a leading glass manufacturer in Japan on their proposed acquisition of shares in a Bangladeshi company involving USD 35 million. At present, the firm is also advising on a cross-border acquisition of shares involving a US seller and a Bangladeshi buyer. The firm is advising joint venture partners from India and Bangladesh on the setting up of a proposed international school in Dhaka. Barrister Sattar has also worked on high value transactions involving divestment and selling of shares in the pharmaceutical and the telecom sector.

    Sattar&Co. regularly advises clients on employment matters in Bangladesh and is the Country Representative for Employment Law Alliance (ELA). With in-depth employment, the firm advises many foreign companies in relation to employment matters, such as termination of employees, retrenchment and ensuring that companies are in due compliance of the labour laws in Bangladesh. At present, Sattar&Co. is advising Singapore Airlines on a particular complex matter and has also successfully advised a Norwegian company on its employment matters in Bangladesh following a global restructuring.

    Barrister Sattar possesses incomparable expertise in the field of arbitration, having worked both in London and Dhaka, making Sattar&Co. the first choice for companies wishing to arbitrate their dispute in Bangladesh (or involving any Bangladeshi party).
