Thomas W. Waun is the managing partner of Ven Johnson Law, PLC in Flint, Michigan, with a statewide practice focused on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation. He represents clients in complex cases involving motor vehicle and trucking accidents, construction site injuries, product and premises liability, police misconduct, legal malpractice, and business litigation. With over 34 years of legal experience, Tom has tried more than 100 civil jury trials as lead counsel in state and federal courts. His track record includes securing multiple seven-figure verdicts and settlements, as well as more than 50 mid-to-high six-figure results for his clients.
A recognized leader in the legal community, Tom has served on the Negligence Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan and was its Chair in 2013. He is a past President of the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) and currently holds leadership roles in the Michigan Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court, Tom actively contributes to committees on civil jury instructions, electronic discovery, and mediation reform. A frequent lecturer on negligence law and trial practice, he previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
