Kevin Simowski is a former Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor who adds 22 years of experience to a team that has over 200 years of combined trial experience. While at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Simowski was a key member in the criminal appellate division and the special assignments division. Notably, he obtained convictions of Martell Welch for a murder on the Belle Isle Bridge in Detroit, as well as Lawrence DeLisle for first-degree murder resulting from the drowning deaths of his four children in the Detroit River. Simowski was also the architect of Wayne County’s highly successful homicide unit. Before ending his career with the Prosecutor’s Office, Simowski was the Chief of Staff and Chief of Operations.
In 2004, Mr. Simowski became the Chief of the Criminal Justice Bureau with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. He directed five divisions, including Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement, Corrections, Criminal, Criminal Appellate, and Healthcare Fraud.
After a brief time with the Michigan AG, Mr. Simowski became the Vice President of Operations at the DMC Cardiovascular Institute and Corporate Vice President for Cardiovascular Service. Mr. Simowski spearheaded the DMC’s Accountable Care Organization, one of the nation’s first of such organizations. Mr. Simowski helped the DMC achieve external ratings by the US News & World Report as one of America’s best hospitals and Leapfrog Group Top Hospitals.
