John Wasung heads Kitch’s Toledo, Ohio office. Since joining the firm in 1986, Wasung has successfully litigated in a number of areas, including medical malpractice defense, auto negligence, mass tort litigation, insurance coverage, and trucking liability. Mr. Wasung has successfully handled dozens of jury trials, and has been designated a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Wasung is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Ohio, as well as admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts of Eastern Michigan and Northern Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Bar Associations of Michigan and Ohio, as well as the Society of Ohio Hospital Attorneys, the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the Defense Research Institute, the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Trucking Industry Defense Association.
Mr. Wasung was named an Ohio Super Lawyer every year since 2009. Only five percent of the attorneys in the state are named Super Lawyers.
He is AV Peer Review Rated by Lexis/Nexis/Martindale-Hubbell. The AV Peer Review rating is the highest rating allowed. It attests to a lawyer’s legal ability and professional ethics, and reflects the confidential opinions of the Bar and the Judiciary.
Mr. Wasung received his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
