Jenna Wright Greenman is an experienced litigator and trial attorney, and a Principal of the Kitch Firm, sharing a leadership role and serving as the Detroit office’s contact in birth trauma and medical malpractice defense practice. She has successfully defended and tried to verdict, as lead counsel, professional liability claims against hospitals and medical care providers against claims of professional negligence, often involving catastrophic brain damage cases, neurology, neurosurgery, and all types of malpractice claims. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Wright Greenman is engaged by numerous insurance carriers and institutions as an educator, including the Detroit Medical Center and other organizations, developing plans for better patient care and safety and medical legal issues. She has been invited to give hundreds of lectures and presentations in the field of obstetrics, pediatrics, neurology and brain injury, physician practice guidelines, electronic medical records, legal issues, and other topics. Additionally, Ms. Wright Greenman serves on panels for National Trial Counsel for several different health organizations.
Ms. Wright Greenman was also recently named “2023 Lawyer of the Year - Medical Malpractice Law - Defendants” by Best Lawyers . Recognition by Best Lawyers is based entirely on peer review in the legal community.
She was invited to serve as Co-Chair of the American Conference Institute on Traumatic Brain Injury Conference in 2012 and 2013, as well as present on birth injury and brain injury issues. The ACI conducts national conferences for leaders in the industries of medical malpractice.
Ms. Wright Greenman enjoys the privilege of being nominated and selected as a member of the prestigious Federation of Defense and Corporation Counsel (FDCC), an international organization with less than 1200 attorney members, all of whom have demonstrated their leadership and skills in the legal community. Election to the FDCC is by the Board of Directors upon recommendation by the Admissions Committee, charged with making an exhaustive investigation into the qualifications of the nominees to ensure that they have distinguished themselves professionally from all of their peers.
In 2021, Ms. Wright Greenman was nominated and voted into the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA is a prestigious nomination and invitation-only national group of attorneys that must have a minimum number of at least 10 jury trials to verdict to even be considered as a candidate, and the organization selects trial attorneys that uphold the tenets of civility, professionalism, and integrity, and those of high personal character and honorable reputation amongst the legal community.
She was selected to serve on the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Council in 2019, and currently serves as a council member. The Council is comprised of selected plaintiff and defense attorneys who practice negligence litigation, and advocate for fair access to jury trials and the judicial system.
Ms. Wright Greenman is an active member of numerous organizations in her profession, including the State Bar of Michigan, Negligence and Litigation Sections. She is a former President of the Michigan Society for Health Risk Management, and a frequent presenter as a long standing member of the Education committee. She is the current Chair of the Oakland County Bar Association Medical Legal Committee.
She is a member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, Oakland County Bar Association, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and serves as an evaluator for the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal. She is also an invited panel member for the DMBA Judicial Candidate Election Committee for numerous years.
In 2016, Ms. Wright Greenman was honored by Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly by being selected as one of its “Women in the Law,” an award given annually to salute high achieving female lawyers in Michigan and their accomplishments.
In 2009, she was asked to co-author and publish a book chapter on Forensic Neuropsychological Assessment of the pediatric patient in Clinical Psychology.
Ms. Wright Greenman is also very active in the community, organizing and putting on a 5k/10k race series for charity every year on Belle Isle, and is the Past-President of the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit for 6 years. Ms. Wright Greenman is an active member of the United States Soccer Federation as a Referee, and frequently participates in triathlons, running events, and plays competitive soccer.
Ms. Wright Greenman received her J.D., cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She also earned a B.S., cum laude, with double major in Bio-mechanic Kinesiology and Psychology/Science Education from the University of Michigan. Ms. Wright Greenman has served as a teaching assistant in Criminal and Tort Law at the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, where she was also the screening editor of the Law Review. Ms. Wright Greenman is admitted to practice in Michigan, as well as the federal district court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
