Daniel Shirey is a principal of the firm, who has been with the firm for more than 30 years. He has extensive litigation experience in the areas of medical and dental malpractice, estate litigation and probate, and also specializes in the areas of healthcare professional licensing defense and tax issues. Mr. Shirey also heads the firm’s Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration practice.
Mr. Shirey received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, a B.A. with Honors from Michigan State University and holds a Tax LL.M. from Wayne State University Law School. He has received a certificate of completion in Estate Planning and Probate from the Michigan Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Also, Mr. Shirey was selected by DBusiness Magazine as a Top Lawyer in Michigan in the field of trusts and estates law. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. He was also recognized as a Leading Lawyer in 2021 and 2022. This recognition is based on a survey of their peers.
Mr. Shirey is licensed to practice law in Michigan, Florida, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Tax Court.
