About Jacob P. Elliott

Jake Elliott obtained his undergraduate degree in Criminology from the University of Iowa, in 2021, with honors. He then attended the University of Iowa College of Law, graduating in 2024. While in law school, Jake served as a joint judicial extern in the chambers of Iowa Supreme Court Justice Thomas Waterman and Seventh Judicial District Court Judge Patrick McElyea. He also served as the Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems Journal Senior Article Editor and on the Moot Court Executive Board as an Appellate Advocacy Coordinator. Jake joined the Finley Law Firm after passing the July 2024 Iowa Bar Examination and is practicing in the firm's civil litigation division, obtaining experience in multiple practice areas including construction, medical malpractice, and railroad (FELA) claims.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
