Matthew A. Foster is an associate attorney in the firm’s Denver office, where he focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, representing clients in high-exposure matters involving construction defects, contract disputes, personal injury, motor vehicle accident, and general liability claims. He has substantial experience litigating cases in both state and federal courts across multiple jurisdictions and brings a strategic, trial-oriented approach to every stage of litigation.
Prior to joining HBS, Matt’s practice specialized in insurance property subrogation, where he regularly prosecuted complex construction defect claims, HOA disputes, and product defect claims both for and against multiple Fortune 500 companies across the mountain west region, litigating cases in Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Arizona, South Dakota, Missouri, Texas, and Wyoming.
Matthew has played a key role in resolving significant, high-value claims, including seven, eight, and nine-figure matters. His experience includes negotiating multiparty settlements in complex fire and wildfire loss cases involving claims exceeding $1 million. Matt’s former Plaintiff-side experience affords him a unique perspective that brings invaluable strategy and insight to vigorous defense of his clients.
Matthew earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2012 and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Cornell University in 2009. In his free time, Matt enjoys skiing, DIY home improvement projects, and playing with his two children.
