Background.
Mr. Schatten was born in New York City and grew up in Maryland. Mr. Schatten’s father was a successful trial lawyer and federal prosecutor in New York City in an office takes on some of the largest and most complicated cases in the country. At a young age, Mr. Schatten saw a close family member go through a serious and debilitating illness. Through these formative experiences, Mr. Schatten learned that a person’s health and well-being are among the most important things in life. There is simply no price on health. It was out of these events that shaped Mr. Schatten’s passion to be a litigator, trial lawyer and to fight for the injured.
During college, at the University of Rochester, Mr. Schatten excelled in political science, economics and collegiate debate including earning top speaker awards. Mr. Schatten then graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law, a top ranked national law school. Mr. Schatten honed his litigation experience working with excellent law firms and litigating against some top-notch lawyers. Mr. Schatten founded the Schatten Law Firm on the principle that clients come first. For every client, Mr. Schatten’s goal is earn the client’s trust and confidence, communicate well, successfully handle the case with high quality work product and to deliver a strong financial result. Mr. Schatten also offers his clients lower fees to allow them to keep more of their settlement. Mr. Schatten believes in giving back to his community. Mr. Schatten founded a non-profit organization in Denver that helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. Mr. Schatten has also served as a Fundraising Chair for his Vanderbilt University Law School Reunion Class and as a Reunion Chair for his Walt Whitman High School Class. Mr. Schatten is an active Member of the Colorado Trial Lawyer Association and Doyle Inn of Court. In the Doyle Inn, Mr. Schatten had the tremendous opportunity to be in a pupilage group led by Judge Neil Gorsuch, now a Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Schatten speaks French and also speaks a limited amount of Spanish. Mr. Schatten uses a translation service to assist with his Spanish speaking clients. In his free time, Mr. Schatten enjoys all the great outdoor activities in Colorado including hiking, cycling and skiing and also enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family.
