Terrible lawyer! I curse the day I contracted her for legal services!! Interested only in her money and will harass you to get it!. she sets goals/deadlines and never meets them. Says one thing today and change it the next minute. Does not proof read documents. I remember she filed my document without proof reading and mistakes were discovered after the fact with names and dates of events, even after these were provided to her. She will ask for required documents a day or two before it is due even after several requests have been made to her, asking which documents she needs. Oh and payment receipts are not provided. I initially had a receipt from her at the beginning of our contract. The rest of my payments had no professional receipt. when asked she kept saying she will send but never sent it. Finally she said I should consider all my zelle & cashapp payments as receipts! I smell tax evasion on her part with this as she even asked me to send money to her son's(Emmem Eddings) account.
I Used Ekaette as our immigration lawyer last year. I had a very bad experience with her. My wife and I made a initial deposit and called her that day to discuss when the remaining balance will be deposited. We were then told it would be more than we were originally quoted. There was miscommunication about the price of filing the paperwork. We asked for a refund but was refused. She stated she has already completed the paperwork. So we paid her the rest of the money. She then requested a sizable amount of information which led me to believe she had not completed the paperwork as she said. 3 weeks later we finally got the paperwork and it was unusable. Had i turned in this paperwork i would have been denied. Multiple mistakes like Last Name, Date of birth and birthplace were all incorrect. One of the questions on my petition was: Are you facing deportation proceedings. The answer is no and she marked yes. Proof reading should be done. Long story short, i could not trust the paperwork and decided to get another lawyer. To this day i still have not received an apology or even some admittance to fault. It was a stressful experience placed upon a already stressful time.
I now have my green card and am very happy. I feel its my obligation to tell my experience and hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else. My immigration officer, Officer Vassek, gave me documentation to report her to the Regulation of Attorneys and i intend to pursue.
