Represented University of Colorado in various matters as outside counsel. Have successfully represented hospital CEO in Kansas in a complicated patient care matter. Defended nurses from St. Anthony North in Colorado charged with criminally negligent homicide of an infant. Case involved allegations of nursing negligence, medication error, pharmacy error. Case proceed to trial with one nurse who I represented acquitted. Numerous trials in various states lasting up to 4 weeks including trials involving pharmacy, physicians issues, nursing issues. Represented the largest compounding pharmacy in U.S. involving the FDA’s attempts to regulate state compounding. Case went criminal. Most of the charges were dismissed before and during trial. The case was reversed on appeal and we were able to settle the matter with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Colorado. Represent physicians in various civil, peer review matters, and litigation and contract issues. Very familiar with Emergency room issues including EMTALA. Recently obtained verdict and settlement against Major Hospital chain and physicians involved in defamation of surgeon by manufacturing false allegations and presenting those allegations to a peer review committee. Complicated peer review issues involved in two appeals before obtaining verdict and eventual settlement.
