Hired Attorney

This attorney has been suspended by the Colorado Supreme court for a year and a day. She does not confer with the other side and does this to drive up her costs. She files motion after motion and most were laughable. Once I switched we had a better outcome because we started negotiations which she refused to do.

I hope Brenda Storey never practices law again. She filed a motion to split a utility bill for 16 dollars. She files motion after motion. She is so unethical. Told the court there was no adjustments for child support. The judge admonished her. She sandbags dates for negotiations and never operates in good faith. She caused me and most importantly my daughter great harm by causing emotional/ mental distress. She was purposeful in her actions.

In case she ever comes back to practicing law after the CO Supreme Court suspended her, just run the other way. She was suspended for a reason and that age old saying is true. If she did it once she will do it again and you deserve it to yourself to hire an ethical attorney that limits your stress in family court, not be the main cause of your stress.

She was suspended. Just Google her. I should have listened to friends and fired her. Thanks to her I lost everything. My kids, retirement and any chance to coparent is gone. Thanks Brenda for nothing.

She has finally been suspended and I couldn’t agree more with the Colorado Supreme Court. Brenda placed her own needs above her clients. She treated her client like her own personal piggy. She is extremely disrespectful and should have been disbarred. For anyone that wants to hire her after her suspension, be wise! She lost my case and I spent thousands on experts that she said I needed. Experts that at the end of the case hurt me more than helped me. She is just in it for the money. By the time we were supposed to go to trial my funds were low. I spent almost 100k and asked if she would work with me. She said no and I was forced to settle. I spent almost 20k on experts we never even used on her advice. Her poor advice. This woman is nothing but a poor representation of an attorney.

I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring her. She states that she is one of the best attorneys in Colorado, and I would have to disagree. Her tactics don’t help an already horrible situation better. She really does t care about how you will coparent when it’s done, just that she “wins.” She didn’t win my case. My ex got everything. While Brenda was playing hardball, my ex’s attorneys were actually working the right way and being strategic. She had blinders on and it hurt me. I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone.

I understand not all cases will be civil, but you shouldn't have your attorney fanning the fire, which is exactly what Brenda did in my case. My divorce wasn't a great experience, as many aren't, but it didn't have to be so contentious. Instead of speaking with the other attorney she would file motion after motion after motion. This not only racked up my costs but pushed my ex to get a much more high powered attorney, which hurt me in the end. If I could go back and redo this chapter of my life, I would have hired a different attorney.

This attorney is notorious for unethical practices and has an impending suspension. Instead of upholding the high standards of the law, she herself lies in documents to the court, bullies the other side to try and strong arm them (ultimately hurting her clients case), and will push a case straight to a couple days before litigation to waste her clients money before telling them they should settle. I should have done my research and hired another attorney. Brenda did nothing to help me or my family case.
