Zach Redington is a Dallas criminal defense attorney and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates. With more than 20 years of experience defending individuals accused of crimes in state and federal courts, his practice focuses on DWI defense, assault charges, domestic violence allegations, drug offenses, weapons charges, probation violations, and other misdemeanor and felony criminal matters throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, Ellis County, and North Texas.
During his tenure at Michael & Associates, Mr. Redington has handled nearly 500 criminal cases, representing clients charged with offenses ranging from DWI and assault allegations to felony probation violations, drug crimes, and weapons offenses. He leads Michael & Associates’ Dallas criminal defense office.
His practice includes substantial experience defending intoxication-related offenses, with more than 150 DWI matters comprising one of the largest segments of his criminal-defense caseload. This high-volume criminal defense practice has provided him with extensive familiarity with the legal, evidentiary, procedural, and strategic issues that frequently arise in both misdemeanor and felony prosecutions.
Mr. Redington has extensive jury trial experience and has successfully defended clients facing a wide range of criminal allegations. Known for his approachable manner and ability to connect with clients, judges, prosecutors, and juries alike, he approaches every case with a sense of urgency and an understanding of the profound impact criminal accusations can have on individuals and their families.
Mr. Redington formerly served as President of the Ellis County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and was appointed to serve on the State Grievance Committee. He is also a frequent speaker and author on criminal-law topics. His published work includes the article "Juvenile Transfer from TYC to TDCJ: TYC Screening and Judicial Response," which appeared in the State Bar Juvenile Law Section Report.
Mr. Redington graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. During law school, he served as an intern for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and worked as a law clerk for a criminal defense attorney in Austin. He also participated in both the Criminal Defense Clinic and the Juvenile Justice Clinic, gaining practical experience representing and advocating for clients before entering private practice.
