T.J. has quickly gained an extensive level of experience both defending and prosecuting complex commercial claims in the Dallas area. Within his first two years of practice, T.J. led closing arguments in a multi-million-dollar telecommunications matter, and sat second-chair in a nationally publicized jury trial victory resulting in a jury verdict of $1.08 million. T.J. stands out amongst his peers by his experience outside the courtroom as well, regularly handing depositions and complex motion practice for litigation matters. His primary areas of practice include complex commercial claims such as breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, business divorce, and fraud. T.J. also represents companies and individuals in a variety of employment matters, and has extensive experience in the defense and prosecution of restrictive covenants such as contractual non-compete and non-solicitation clauses.
Outside of the office, T.J. is heavily involved in the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and is a member of the 2017 DAYL Leadership Class, the Transition to Law Program, and the American Inns of Court-ABOTA Trial Academy. T.J. also frequently volunteers his time to support the community, such as volunteering as an Affiliate Professor for the UNT Dallas College of Law.
Before earning his law license in November of 2015, TJ attended Baylor Law and is a graduate of the rigorous Baylor Law Practice Court Program. In law school, T.J. also served as the 3L Student Bar Association President and competed regularly on mock trail and moot court teams, including earning an NTC Regional Championship in mock trial. For his achievement in advocacy, T.J. earned the Beckworth, Hollingsworth and Stephens Trial Advocacy Award’ and the ‘Fraley & Fraley Mock Trial Award’, and was a Quarter Finalist advocate in the TYLA National Trial Competition.
