Following undergraduate school, Don worked for three years as a field youth counselor counseling juvenile delinquents and their families as part of the Oklahoma Juvenile Court System. The experiences in this job led him to his interest in law school. The listening and analytical skills Don gained in his career before law school, together with his years working as in-house counsel, have served well in his representation of lenders across the nation. He is able to see matters from the lender’s perspective.
As Chair of SettlePou’s Commercial Lending practice, Don represents bank and non-bank lenders, providing a complete spectrum of services in documenting and closing all types of commercial loans. He also provides expertise in the firm’s Creditor’s Rights & Bankruptcy practices, including collateralization, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and defensive litigation.
Don’s hobbies include gardening, hiking with his dog, Boomer, spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren, exercising, and adventure traveling. His mottos are “Persistence conquers all,” and “Lead by example.”
