Hired Attorney

in 2014 Jason M Berent took our case to representing our business as the plaintiff involving substantial damage to one of our commercial buildings from a tenant. When Jason took the case, we told us he knew the defendant and was delighted to take on the case. Jason's first three months were extremely un-responsive. I.E Jason could not produce the initial demand letter supposedly sent to the tenant. He dropped many balls and used every creative excuse in the book. After 4 months of unprofessional help we fired him and went to another lawyer. As the other lawyer worked the case, it turned out that Jason had defended the tenant and had represented them repeatedly in other areas of their business. Representing a new plaintiff against the company you used to represent is a direct violation of the Texas Bar code of ethics. Our advice for anyone that gets pulled in by is initial southern charm: Run, don't walk away from Jason M. Berent.
