About Mr. Clifford Duke

Clifford Winter Duke is a native of the Pacific Northwest, growing up in the Rocky Mountains of Southeast Idaho. He attended Gonzaga University for his undergraduate and law school education, earning his Juris Doctorate in 2004.

He moved to Texas with his wife after graduate school and started practicing law in plaintiff’s work and criminal defense for three years before joining the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office in 2008.

He spent the next seventeen years fighting for the rights of indigent Texans at all levels, from Class C tickets to charges of capital murder.

He is a Past President of the Collin County Young Lawyers Association, the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and currently serves as a Director for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association as well as a Board Member for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Project (CDLP), training lawyers across the state. Clifford is also a lecturer in Criminal Law for the University of Texas at Dallas. He knows that every case, no matter the level or charge, is the most important to his client and will walk with them as a zealous advocate and counselor every step of the way.
