About Ms. Audrey Kelly

Audrey Kelly is a Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys, where she represents individuals accused of DWI, drug crimes, assault offenses, theft, white-collar crimes, and other misdemeanor and felony charges throughout Texas. A former prosecutor and seasoned criminal defense lawyer, she brings more than a decade of courtroom experience and a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system from both sides of the courtroom.

A native Texan, Ms. Kelly's interest in criminal law began long before she became an attorney. At just 18 years old, she started working in a criminal defense office, gaining early exposure to criminal investigations, court proceedings, and client advocacy. She earned her bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in only three years while competing as a dual-sport collegiate athlete. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Ms. Kelly began her legal career as a prosecutor, where she handled a wide range of criminal matters ranging from traffic offenses and misdemeanors to serious felony prosecutions. That experience provided her with firsthand knowledge of how law enforcement agencies investigate cases, how prosecutors evaluate evidence, and how criminal cases are prepared for trial. She uses that insight to identify weaknesses in the state's case, challenge questionable evidence, and develop effective defense strategies for her clients.

Following her time as a prosecutor, Ms. Kelly co-founded the Denton-based law firm Jarvis & Kelly, where she served as managing partner for more than a decade. During that time, she built a reputation as a respected trial attorney known for her courtroom advocacy, strategic case preparation, and strong professional relationships within the North Texas legal community. Her extensive experience practicing in Texas courts provides valuable familiarity with local procedures, prosecutors, judges, and the practical realities that can influence the outcome of a criminal case.

As a criminal defense attorney, Ms. Kelly represents clients facing a broad range of charges, including DWI offenses, drug possession allegations, assault and violent crimes, theft offenses, probation violations, and complex felony matters. She understands that a criminal accusation can threaten a person's career, reputation, freedom, and future. For that reason, she takes a proactive and client-focused approach, working closely with each client to explain the legal process, evaluate available defenses, and pursue the strongest possible outcome.

Ms. Kelly's approach combines aggressive courtroom advocacy with compassionate client service. She believes every person deserves a strong defense and clear communication throughout the legal process. Clients frequently praise her dedication, professionalism, and willingness to fight for their interests when the stakes are highest.

Today, Ms. Kelly continues to defend individuals across Texas as a Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates. Drawing on more than a decade of courtroom experience, leadership in private practice, and extensive criminal litigation experience, she provides strategic, knowledgeable, and results-driven representation for clients facing some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
