Can someone with an arrest warrant issued for a missed court date on a misdemeanor charge in Louisiana be arrested in California?

Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
Arrested in California? Yes. IF arrested here, you'll need to hire counsel here to see if you can fight extradition to the other state, and hire counsel in the other state to deal with the warrant and criminal defense on the charges against you. You should immediately consult with counsel in the other state where the warrant is, to see if counsel can deal with the case before you get arrested here. Contact the local Bar Association or Lawyer Referral Service in that area.

How many days should I get to respond to a restraining order?

It should say on the front of the order how many days prior to hearing you must be served. If it says 3 days or something short you can ask for additional time to obtain a lawyer so you can reply.

What happens if I missed a court date because my child was in the ER?

You will have to appear in court and answer as to why you did not appear. It will be up to the court to determine what if anything they will do.
