Should my son be allowed bail for pleading not guilty?

Answered by attorney Harley Ives Gutin
Criminal Law lawyer at Gutin Wolverton
Yes he should be awarded some type of bond on the new arrest. However, the Judge and or the State can revoke his bond on the first case because of the arrest on the second case. In that case the best thing to do is to file a Demand for Speedy trial and either take it to trial if a good case or work it out with a plea if a bad case to take to trial. When he gets out have him move far away from his wife and her "family" cause she can do the same thing all over again.

You can change your mind but you may likely have to provide a reason for turning down a plea agreement such as duress, against your free will, undue influence, misunderstanding/misrepresentation, etc.

A parolee is not supposed to commit any crimes.? If parolee did not know it was counterfeit or had no reason to know then the possession was not a crime.? Parole officer evaluates the evidence.
