What can you do to help a person who was wrongfully accused and convicted with aggravated sexual assault?

If he is within 42 days of sentencing, he can file for an appeal. If he is beyond that he can file an application for leave to appeal to the Court of Appeals within 6 months of sentencing. If beyond that, or if appeal has already lost, he can file a Motion for Relief from Judgment (6.500 motion) in circuit court. In some cases, he might have available the remedy of federal habeas corpus. Typically, a defendant would overturn the conviction based on legal error, or based on newly discovered evidence. Then, once a new trial is ordered, the defendant can defend at trial, which could include presenting favorable witnesses. Contact me or another experienced appeal attorney to discuss the matter.

You are most probably going to be charged with a violation of your probation. You should get an attorney as the normal penalty for a probation violation is to be jailed for your original sentence.
