Can a house be searched for drugs on hearsay?

Answered by attorney Harley Ives Gutin
Criminal Law lawyer at Gutin Wolverton
If the hearsay was from a reliable citizen informant or another reliable source of information it may be the basis for a search warrant. Depends on the allegations and the source of those allegations before the judge at the time the judge signed the warrant. If the search led to your arrest you would certainly challenge the validity of that search warrant because it may have been illegal.

What can I do if there is a wrong information on police report and charged with something that wasn't mine?

Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
You can be charged, because you have been charged. The question is: Are you bold enough to tell a jury this story, because IF you lose, you are going to prison.

What happens to me on a second time petty theft that amounted to $87.00?

Answered by attorney Robert Jason De Groot (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at R. Jason de Groot, P.A.
You will not get it expunged because you can only get one of those in a lifetime. This time, you will not be offered a diversion program, and will probably be put on probation, and might get a conviction.
