Are you already convicted if you are not yet sentenced but were placed on interim probation when you enter a guilty plea?

Answered by attorney Irwin G. Klein (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Hein, Waters and Klein
Judgment is not final until you've been sentenced, so there is not a conviction until a sentence is imposed. Usually, SORA registration takes place after sentencing when the SORA level is determined. You did not explain the reason for the interim probation, but that usually effects the plea deal.

Can self defense justify an assault?

Answered by attorney Eric E Rothstein (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Rothstein Law PLLC
You have a defense. The police tend to just arrest and let the court system deal with it. Is there surveillance? I have a case right now involving an incident in a club and I got the surveillance which refutes the claim against my client.

Is it still criminal solicitation if the person being asked to commit a crime does not follow through?

Answered by attorney Julie Rendelman

The short answer is yes, person B does not have to actually follow through with the crime in order for person A to be criminally liable.
