What can I do if the police officers are threatening my mother about drugs?

What they want is to catch him or others in violation of probation or committing a crime, and they will keep looking as long as it takes. They are also looking to see if she is a conspirator in a crime by harboring a fugitive or having contraband in her house. If she were charged with anything like that, then some of the things they told her could be done to her, not all, they were exaggerating to make a point to her. What can you do? Nothing unless the police provably commit abuse and violation of her rights, which is not what you have described. They are conducting a continuing police investigation, by questioning suspects and witnesses, etc. The only was she is going to stop this is to ensure he does not reside in her house any longer.

Will there be any other action on my part after the probation sentencing is complete?

Your case will never be totally off your record. You can get a 1203.4 petition which will clear it for many reasons, but you must always disclose it to potential city, county, state or federal job applications. You must also disclose it for professional licensing like a lawyer, attorney, real estate broker, dentist, cpa, nurse and even for a license to sell lottery tickets. If you get arrested again for theft it can be used to increase the charge to a felony. Many private employers would be unable to use it against you.

Is there any way she can get a new public attorney?

Unlike firing a paid attorney, you need a reason to fire your public defender. The fact that you don't like him or do not feel (s)he is doing a good job for you may not be enough. A judge is more likely to permit her to change public defenders if her current lawyer is somehow violating her right to adequate representation.
