All an officer needs is probable cause, which can be most anything. Defective equipment on your car, dark tinted windows beyond what the law allows, erratic driving, driving to slow, outstanding warrants, a tip from somebody/informant, almost anything.

I believe that you are the victim of a scam and your computer was locked due to a virus that was transmitted from the website you were on. You will need to take your computer to someone with the knowledge to have the virus removed.

If I request and receive a traditional pardon by the state of California for a felony, can I legally possess a gun in Texas?

If you are really getting a pardon from the governor, it should allow you to own weapons, but pardon is a political action. If you are getting a release under PC 12033.4 that does not allow you to own weapons. Either way talk to a lawyer in Texas.
