Hi, Fortunately, not having money doesn't impact your access to counsel. He will be assigned a very competent attorney from Legal Aid or 18B. Whether the case goes to trial or not however depends on a lot of facts and strategies that the attorney will likely play close to his chest. But ultimately, whether something goes to trial or not is completely dependant on the accused and how willing he is to take a plea offer.  Unfortunately, without more details of your case, I cannot truly assess it accurately.  Should you have any other questions and would like to speak with us, please feel free to call 1-888-693-8437 ext. 04830062. What can I do if I did not know that my license was suspended?

Answered by attorney Steven Fairlie
Criminal Law lawyer at Fairlie & Lippy, P.C.
If you can prove that you did not get notice you might have a chance, but there is a presumption that if notice was mailed to the address where you are licensed that you got notice, and it is then up to you to prove you did not get it.
