What are the penalties for receiving marijuana in the mail?

Answered by attorney Craig W Elhart (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Craig W. Elhart, PC
Since the US mail was used, this likely could be a federal offense. What the possible penalties could be would depend on the actual charge. As a general rule, federal penalties are tougher than Michigan's.

If your car is locked and in the parking lot of a convenience store and a random pedestrian comes up to the car and tries to open the door repeatedly

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
Unless there is an entry into the car there is no theft. For there to be a robbery force must be used against an individual. Under the facts you present, it would be difficult to get the police to file a case.

What is the penalty for breaking probation by living in a different county than the one you were registered in?

Answered by attorney Jared Christian Winter (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Jared C. Winter
The amount of time depends on the charge that he's on probation for. The punishment for probation violations can be as low as no jail to as high as the maximum amount of time for the charge that he's on probation for. The judge has the final say in how much punishment is warranted, but will listen to comments from the DA, the defense lawyer, and probation.
