What's the punishment for buying herion?

Criminal Law lawyer at Craig W. Elhart, PC
The actual penalty varies depending on the amount of drug possessed. It can vary from a maximum of 4 years in prison to life. The actual sentence imposed would depend on the person's criminal history and other factors that would be considered in the pre-sentence investigation and report.

If someone was charged with attempted murder and the DA is offering plea for 1st degree assault, can it be dropped to 2nd degree assault?

Answered by attorney Jared Christian Winter (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Jared C. Winter
There are no magic words you can use to get the DA to give your husband the offer you want them to give. All you can do is tell them what you would like to happen in the case. They will take that into consideration, but it by no means compels them to give your husband a better offer.

Should I plea not guilty or guilty or no contest?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Cynthia Henley
You should hire a lawyer because this is a crime of moral turpitude that will follow you for life. Pleading guilty or no contest will lead to the same finding - that you are guilty. You want to avoid a conviction. As for the restitution, if you do not pay it, they would have to sue you - highly unlikely.
