Is there any way that I could get this cleared of my record?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)

If it is a Class B or Class A, and you are indigent, then you can ask for a court appointed lawyer. Talk to the lawyer about getting a pretrial diversion. It is a reset with conditions. If you are able to get this and successfully complete it, then you can expunge (clear) your record in the future. (You cannot get a court appointed lawyer for a class C but since you were in jail 2 days & got pretrial bond, it most likely is not a class C.)

Does possession of marijuana in your car affect your driving record? How?

If you pleaded guilty or were convicted, the conviction will show up on your criminal record. I suggest you hire a lawyer to withdraw your guilty plea and get the marijuana charge dismissed or reduced to a lesser offense. Having a drug-related conviction on your record will prevent you from getting a job, renting an apartment, getting a loan, etc.

Can a person be responsible for a crime and take the charge from another person?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Yes but why would someone do that? And the DA has to believe and go along with charging the other person. They won't do it if they think it's a sham.
