Slander or libel usually will not lie if the statements are made as part of a court process. If he is saying these things publicly outside of court, they are actionable. The next question is: Does he have money to pay any damages claims?

Aside from not knowing how you are going to get a misdemeanor to travel with you to Europe, I see no problems, but perhaps you can get a ticket for the misdemeanor, you would have to talk to an airline about the fare.

If you violate and are waiting for your court date, do you still have to report to the same probation officer or wait for your court date?

Violate as in violation of probation? You should ask your probation officer this question. Normally, your probation is kinda put on hold during the time that there is a violation of probation pending, but you should contact your probation officer still to find out if they expect you to report during the time.
