Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
Criminal Law lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
Guns and drugs cause problems. Special offender laws the filed off serial number adds to the problem and may make the case go federal. It is possible that the gun issue overrides the drug issue in fed court max time could be 24 years in state court. The problem is that special offender causes minimum mandatory prison in state court these cases are fact dependent and so you might want to schedule an office conference.

It depends on how and why they were dismissed, along with what the charges were. Once a misdemeanor is dismissed, it's over. A felony can be refiled once (twice in limited circumstances).

What can we expect for a first charge for retail fraud under $200 with no arrest?

Jared Clayton Austin

Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
You may be eligible for a diversion program that normally consists of community service, classes, and some fines. That would keep the matter off your public record. While jail is possible, it's highly unlikely.
