It certainly is POSSIBLE to get a plea bargain to a misdemeanor. But beware, merely getting a misdemeanor plea will still leave the Felony arrest and charge on your record. You probably should consult with a qualified attorney who can work toward a resolution of the case that allows it to be completely dismissed and then get the records sealed! Good luck!

He can ask for release on his own recognizance, which means that he does not have to post the amount of bail set. Your boyfriend should retain a criminal defense attorney. Colorado domestic violence statutes allow a person to be arrested, charged, and prosecuted for DV without the consent of the victim.
