I'm going to court for a assault causes bodily injury , they listed it as class a misdemeanor .

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
Your juvenile record cannot be used against you but one danger you face it that the offense could be refiled as a felony based on the injuries. You may have a defense if you were protecting yourself and used reasonable force. Ask your attorney to advise you about the best course of action to take. I have handled many similar cases and usually they can be resolved without a trial, but not always.

Can the courts hold a conviction against me if the charge was conviction came while out on bond?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
The answer is generally yes. The new offense is a violation of bond conditions so may be grounds for revocation of the bond or the requirement to post a new bond. Call an attorney for help. This is a common problem that I see in my criminal practice often.

Can I leave the state without permission?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You will have a warrant for your arrest. I doubt the State will come after you, but if you ever come back and get pulled over then they will arrest you. Maybe they would put it on a national database so that if you are pulled over in another State they could arrest you and then transfer you back to Texas, but it's unlikely since DWI is not that bad of a crime. Now murder is another story. But DWI is pretty small potatoes for the State of Texas.
