Can I get a DUI while driving on private property?

Answered by attorney Thomas Frederick Mueller (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Thomas F. Mueller
Yes you can. The law was changed about 25 years ago to make DUI on private property equally serious. There may be an issue here as to whether the police officer had a legal right to arrest you. That issue can be raised by a motion to suppress the evidence.

You have to first get the judge to offer bond. Then you are out on bond until the case is resolved or goes to trial.
