The arrest for battery is not a violation of probation, unless and until the charges are proven at a violation of probation hearing. He does not have to be convicted of the battery charges. He only needs to be found guilty of violating his probation by committing the act of simple battery.

If you fail to appear, there will be a warrant issued for your arrest, and you might be held without bond until there can be a hearing. Of course, proper notice must be given. Speak with your attorney about this.
