A "global plea" means that if a "deal" is worked out with one agency, usually the Federal Government, the plea and punishment will encompass any other cases or possible cases in another jurisdiction.

What should we do if my daughter was caught shoplifting?

She definitely needs a lawyer and can apply for one for free at the first court appearance. She may be eligible for an "ACD". An ACD is where your case gets adjourned, usually for a year but sometimes less. If you don't get into trouble while the case remains open, then on the adjourned date the case is automatically dismissed. You usually get offered only one of these and very rarely a second.

First, in regards to the bondsman, you owe the bondsman money. You made a deal, and the bondsman expects you to hold to your portion. In regards to what will happen when he goes to court, the bondsman will come off the bond, and your son will go back to jail, because the bondsman is not staying on the bond, when you are not paying. After the bondsman comes off the bond, he can still pursue you for the money you owe him. Second, in regards to the case, you either retain an attorney or the courts will appoint an attorney. I assume on the sale case, there is a witnesses that will testify against your son. I do not consider one year in jail a lot of time, but you might. I suspect on a sale case your son is looking at between 2-4 years in prison. He is a drug dealer.
