Is there anything I can do now to expedite the process, by either having the date moved up or lifting the order to remain away from family?

One of the options which you have is to engage an attorney privately and seek to expedite the adjudication, or potentially have a dropped with the no contact order. And it might well be less expensive than maintaining separate quarters. Additionally, domestic violence charges are extremely serious and have significant future ramifications. This is not something to take lightly. Lastly, although you will most likely be appointed counsel please do realize that you will also most likely be asked to pay for the cost of that counsel over time by order of the court.

Is it legal to record a conversation in a public place?

Answered by attorney Timothy J Klisz (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Klisz Law Office, PLLC
Yes a conversation can be recorded if one person is a party to the conversation. If they did record it, they can't use it to blackmail someone, that's illegal. Negotiation for the release of the tape may be something else.

If my son makes a plea that they all agree on, can they release him that day?

Answered by attorney Stephen Lewis Freeborn (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Freeborn Law Offices P.S.
It depends upon what the plea deal was and whether the judge accepts the deal. Also, you mention something about charges in another county. Such being the case, if the matter is resolved in one county and the county release him, the other county can place a hold, which means your son gets transported to that county to deal with the issue there.
