How long can charges be held on someone for theft of 2 firearms in Liberty County Texas before it is brought before the Grand Jury or dismissed?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Statute of limitations is two years to file a charge. And there is no remedy if everything is dismissed. It's called sovereign immunity. Unless someone was lying and you can prove it.

Can a guilty plea conviction be overturned due to manipulation by the police and courts?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)

The issue of coerced confession (and thus sufficiency of the evidence otherwise) is something that should have been raised at your trial. If it was not, then it is possible that you could have someone look at the case on a post conviction habeas corpus review, but the chances are success are low.

What is the charge for first degree manufacturing with intent to deliver meth?

You face the same penalty as IF you knew, especially IF the prosecutor does not believe that you did not know. Would you admit that you knew IF you knew? Of course not, because the penalty may be 10-15 years in prison.
