What can I do if I do not have the financial means to pay for PC 1000 enrollment fees?

This is a tough situation. Unfortunately, you are not alone. There are sooo many people in your situation, and there are so many fines/fees/penalty assessments tacked on to any violation now - many of which are mandatory, meaning that our legislators have told the judge he has to impose them even if he doesn't want to! But I digress; this angers me. This doesn't help you in your situation. I do not know why the judge did not order you to a program that doesn't charge you, or why, if you do not have the ability to pay, the judge did not make that finding and order that fees for such program were waived. Why didn't or can't your public defender ask the judge? You should not be "penalized," violated, or denied the benefit of the law because you are down on your luck, so to speak. I would get you on the judge's calendar and ask just that! Hope you succeed and get the help you need and that things turn around for you.

You may want to consider hiring an attorney "pre-filing" to try to limit or stop an investigation prior to any potential charges being filed.

How do I get a no contact order lifted if I am the victim and it is a term of probation?

Answered by attorney Laurie A. Schmidt
Criminal Law lawyer at 5280 Law Group
Most courts will issue a protective order, regardless if you want it issued or not. Your boyfriend can file in court to modify the terms of the protective order so that you may live together and / or have peaceful contact.
