If someone is convicted of a felony and I am a witness, what is the punishment for false police report?

Answered by attorney Stephen Lewis Freeborn (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Freeborn Law Offices P.S.
I would have to see the report and what you actually said. If it was just an innocent mistake, then probably nothing. If you intentionally lied to the police, then you could be charged with perjury which is a Class C felony.

Yes, if the owner determines to make a complaint. Get an attorney before speaking any more to the authorities and look from the outside in.

Can he file a criminal charge on me for the damage done to the RV and how can I go about retrieving my things legally?

How can he file criminal charges on you because a tree fell on your vehicle? He can only complain to the police if he thinks you committed some crime and then the DA determines whether to press charges. You didn't cause the tree to fall and it damaged your property. Next: how did he "take posession" of the vehicle? It's still your vehicle. Do you owe him money for the storage? Did he file a garageman's lien? You can just go and get your property, it's your property. If he stops you, sue him.
