You need an attorney, because the question does not make sense. Forget the fact there is little punctuation, did you plead guilty to safe breaking, or did you go to trial and testify on your behalf.

The potential criminal case and civil demand are completely separate, and paying the civil demand will do nothing with regard to the potential criminal charge. The statute of limitations is two years. If it is not paid, it will likely be dropped. They would have to sue to get the money if it is not voluntarily paid.
