What can I do to prevent losing my freedom over medical reasons?

My condolences. You are in an impossible situation caused by your wife's mental illness and mental state. Unfortunately, I cannot advise you as to what to do regarding your criminal case. That is something that you need to sit down and talk to your attorney about. As I am sure your attorney told you, if you can prove that your wife's allegations are a product of her mental condition, and you can support that through the testimony of your wife's doctors, you may be able to convince a jury that you are not guilty. Either way, you are placing your freedom in the hands of 12 strangers and, as with any jury trial, taking a risk.

Since it has been 10 years since you got off parole, you may very well be eligible to have record expunged PROVIDED that you have had no other criminal law violations ANYWHERE, including other states.
