An electric company fail to install proper circuit needed to prevent electrical surges in a swimming pool light, which cause a death of a guest.

Answered by attorney Patrick Short
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Firm of Patrick Short
I had a case in another state that was similiar when a septic system was not installed correctly causing an electrical short and fire and killing an occupant of the home.  I represented the children of the decendent and the surviving spouse.  In order to understand the case a lawyer would need to interview the various witnesses and the decendent's family to determine how and if they could help. I would recommend that the decedent's family contact an attorney who deals in these types of cases in order to determine if they can help the family from a legal perspective for their loss of their loved one.  There are rules about when a case must be brought or you lose the right to do so.  I would encourage you to contact an attorney and schedule an appointment.  Typically, attorneys in this type of case do a free consultation.  I'm sorry for your loss.

How can I drop the charges against my boyfriend and not to get into trouble for lying?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You need to hire your own attorney. And now that the charges are filed, just because you want to drop them doesn't mean they will be dropped.

Do i have the right to view the evidence against me

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn

There is no problem with the attorney getting discovery to show you, ask him to show you the probable cause affidavit and police report. If this is a felony you can look at the indictment to see what you are charged with, if a misdemeanor look at the Information. Hope this helps.
