It varies, but it will start at $500 and could go up to $1500 depending on the attorney and whether the defendant wants a good plea deal or wants to go to trial.

How do I get a misdemeanor dismissed in mayor's court?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
You just wrote a person that doesn't know his rights doesn't deserve them, then you write how can I get this dismissed. You lack integrity. YOU DO NOT KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, THEREFORE BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION YOU DON'T DESERVE THEM. So hire a lawyer, or go and learn what you know you should learn.

How can I expunge a first time shoplifting charge?

Answered by attorney Ross Scaccia (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Ross Scaccia, Attorney at Law
There is a legal procedure for expungement of an arrest or conviction, even for felonies. You must first resolve the charge by a plea of guilty or an acquittal. Your case is a misdemeanor. In some cases you can obtain forms for this at the criminal clerk's office at the place you were arrested, and proceed with the process on your own. You will have to pay costs. the clerks office will tell you the cost in advance, and, in most cases, how to proceed with the entire process.
