Rachel Schwartz joined the firm as a partner in September 2020, after an extensive career as a trial lawyer with Giblin, Combs, Schwartz, Cunningham & Scarpa in Morristown, NJ.
With more than two decades of litigation and trial experience, Ms. Schwartz has handled a wide range of complex matters in the area of medical malpractice. For more than 20 years, Ms. Schwartz has successfully defended doctors, nurses, and other allied health care providers and facilities at trial in New Jersey. She has also successfully represented clients before the Appellate Division.
Ms. Schwartz also represents physicians and other healthcare providers at state licensure proceedings. Ms. Schwartz has lectured on medical negligence issues, risk management, legal trends and a number of other health care related issues for various entities, including physicians, nurses, residents, hospitals, and lawyers.
Since 2017, Ms. Schwartz has been selected to the list of “Super Lawyers”, which is compiled by New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine. Less than five percent of attorneys in New Jersey achieve this level of recognition.
Ms. Schwartz has been an invited presenter in the area of medical malpractice for the NJ Association for Justice in the Medical Malpractice Mock Trial and an invited lecturer for the Annual NJ Medical Malpractice Law Seminar. Ms. Schwartz has also acted as the lecture coordinator for physician groups.
Ms. Schwartz is a 1994 graduate of Douglass College of Rutgers University and received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1997. She is admitted to the New Jersey and the New York Bar, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
